I couldn’t be more grateful and thankful - we will be together for Thanksgiving for the first time in years due to pandemic.

 Kitty Borden Imposter

Again, I found this picture online with no way to give credit.

Anyway, years ago, Mom and Dad had a cat looking very much like this one.

Somehow a mouse got into the house and ended up in the master bathroom. Dad, at 5’10” and 250 thought it would be easy to dispose of the intruder.

Well, mouse got behind the toilet and a guy weighing 250 wasn’t able to reach the mouse.

He called to Mom, “Quick, get the cat and put her through door quickly.”

This was accomplished  - but the cat sat there “outstaring” the mouse. Dad was so annoyed with her.

Anyway, long story short, the mouse was eventually disposed of by Dad - all the while being watched by the cat.

I think my brother named her KB - certainly not for her killer instincts.

Omelette Failure

So I saw this online - sorry, don’t know who to give credit to.

Anyway, I don’t make quite a mess such as this but have never made a perfectly presentable omelette.
My son is a red seal chef and when he visits, it’s such a treat to be served a perfected “constructed” omelette.
I stand by as he works and it looks just sooo easy - but it’s not easy for me!
My breakfast specialties will continue to be of an oven nature - much more successful!

This is our favourite oven omelette:
8 slices of bacon cooked til crisp
1/4 cup green onion - sliced
3/4 cups seeded, diced tomatoes
1 Tbsp flour
Salt and pepper
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 1/4 cup cheddar - shredded
1 Tbsp Parmesan
Method:
Sprinkle four and salt over the tomatoes. Toss lightly.
Beat eggs and milk: add vegetable mixture, 1 cup Cheddar and cooked bacon.

Pour into 8’ x 8” glass pan
Sprinkle with Parmesan.
Bake 25 minutes. Sprinkle remaining Cheddar over.
***let stand 5-10 minutes ***

No mystery to my loss - - -

So, over the past  24 months, I have lost 64 pounds.

The way I achieved this was by no longer eating dessert, no longer having my single glass of wine three nights a week and rarely dining out.

Also, I tried to walk 20 minutes 6 days per week.

The past winter was very cold so many days I didn’t walk and this summer has been brutally hot. Regardless, I keep slowly losing weight - very slowly but that’s Ok.

About once every 6 weeks I treat myself to a small vanilla ice cream cone.

That’s all folks.
