Light and No Light

So I asked our computer son how he manages looking at a screen all day. They don't use ceiling lights - desk lights only. I am doing that now and it's "pretty" in here. Hopefully our chef son uses good lighting for his job!
Update note: I was closely watching that animation and it's not a chef pictured- they would never hold the pepper like that - at risk of hitting their finger tips- they "tuck" them back.
Update: Chef son said they are required to have sharp knives- one guy cut himself - knife dull and he was reprimanded. I think he lost a day or something. Can't remember his exact "punishment". Kind of neat, they all have their own kits of "kitchen stuff" - kind of like a tool box for carpenters:) For a birthday we will often send a cheque so he can buy his knife or whatever at a supply store. He has paid $100. for items. I guess no Wal-Mart aisle for them.
Update: I think he told me a guy constructs leather "holders" for their knives to keep them from touching.

Jean, I think your dining room hutch/buffet (or as the Brits would
call it...dresser) is beautiful.
It looks straight out of a Victorian dining room. Do you
collect antiques for all your
rooms or just the odd piece?

Would love to have antiques all over - have some. This sideboard is from England and the sale slip says 1861, I believe. We have a nice old rolltop and Dad's bedroom suite which is not ant. but maybe 40's? Have an old phone. Got to get busy and take pics.We really love the look but my house is def. "eclectic"! If we like it, we buy it so it's a mishmash.

I like your style...if you like it,
buy it. A home should reflect
your personaliy, likes, colours,
.....this is the making of a home.
A home is all the warmer and
inviting when love was put into i.
