I am chuckling to myself as I watch Mr. and Mrs. ready their house for spring arrivals. Unlike Roberta Robin, this Mrs. has him hustling around with a perplexed - "How did she ever talk me into a family" look on his brow. Too funny.
She too, is working, but seems to stay in the bird house more "arranging" things as she wants them. I laugh when he sits on the perch for a moment - she pokes her head out - "you lazy loaf, more nesting materials please"!
Last year Bro saw the mommy bird line her babies up on our railing - to feed them. She would grab a seed from the feeder and pop it into their mouth. Back and forth. I didn't see this but he said she was so thin and they were, of course, chubby.
This all takes place outside our kitchen window - probably 10 feet away - I'd like to get pics but don't want to alarm them.
Our glass is tinted so they can't see us if we leave lights off. Today he sensed we were there and would look around for danger. Til he got his marching orders once again from Mama! Yeah, Mama.

so happy to see that you enjoy watching our little feathered friends too!!Squirrels here are
plentiful and rather aggressive.
They have invade the birdhouse and
removed nest and all in their
mouth and scampered down the pole
and off.....
It's actually entertaining, isn't it?
No robins here yet, but I have had two pair of sharp-tailed grouse cleaning up my trees in the back yard for the past couple of months. I had never seen them fly up into the trees before, but these guys did. Hope they nest in my big spruce trees and raise some little ones.
Has your snow gone, Elaine?
