So I phoned our yard guy last night and said we'd just do the fabric and gravel cover in the 2 beds and "call it good for this year". Heard perplexing tone in his voice. Explained to him that he had reached a point in my "budget" and I'd get him back next year to do more. Immediately, he commented that he "thinks" he over charged me and will adjust it.
Foolishly, I tend to hire someone and expect all will be well. My bro said I should have had a written estimate including what would be done and the fees.
Anyway, I casually said he could write out his statement and give me his final bill.
I would get him again but next time will have a written estimate.
My Man and I always have lived and worked on the premsie that "Our word is our bond" and expect that in others.
Hee, hee. What's that saying? Live and learn? But will she ever learn:)
