Red Green has Nothing on Me

So I arrived home to hear Male "murmurings" from deep in the bowels of the house - nothing alarming (as can be the case) just murmurs. So I tiptoe down and am delighted to see the lock is being replaced on the basement door! Oh happy day!
You see, some sad day last winter the handle came off in my hand. It's kind of freaky to peer out side to the snow and whatever is there. So, thank goodness I had heard of Red Green and his trusty duct tape - yup, I taped both sides of the hole and the "thingy" which goes into the door jamb and we lived like that til last Saturday.
I guess when Mark came down to set up the router, etc. he saw how his parents lived (horrors!) and while in town bought a new passage set. Kind of glad he didn't mention it as I would have said "It's Ok, we like to hear the wind howl and the mice beg to get in on a stormy night".

Update: the door handle broke actually in two - one piece in my hand and one on the step outside! Luckily we had a deadbolt also so were able to keep it locked and duct-taped!

Talked to S earlier in the day, she
had just been administered her
morhphine pill by her "nurse".
A little uncomfortable but nevertheless chatty and bending the knee. So happy to hear her
upbeat about it all.

She is definitely working hard to move that knee - told me she should throw a laundry load in! I had to get firm about that! What if you trip, etc. She relented.
