Tie- ing One On
So I've spent 3 hours sorting, sorting, sorting. Today I went thru my Hon's ties, belts, shoes and computer disks, etc.
Years ago, I'd set his suit, tie and shirt out for the next day's work. He had 13 suits so lots of shirts and ties. I always told him he was the best dressed man at his company. As Controller, it was important to project a polished image. We'd buy his Florsheim shoes in the Sates as they were only $90.00 and double that up here. He has every kind imaginable and they are like new.
A funny memory I have - one day I called his office and the secretary said,"You've been away??"
Told her I had been and had to stay a bit longer than planned - she laughed and said she knew as he came in with quite the "shirt and tie combination" for a couple of days.
Said the girls laughed that I must be away. Sweet memory - and she is a sweet lady.
Was ruthless with myself and made 2 piles - one to toss and one to stay. Well, as I tried to toss, more and more got put in the "stay" pile! Remembered the suits and ties that I set out with each tie!
Anyway, to make my typical long story short, everything is sorted. A full recycle bag of disk boxes, etc. Couldn't toss his hand written computer notes and print outs but the day will come. He set the computer system up for them back in '89 - until then, they didn't have computers.
He only had 2 funs ties - Snoopy and the Coke one. I loved them both.
