"A Flashlight, Their Cell"
Remember staying at their house - he used to work midnight shift at the coal mine. She would wait at the window with her flashlight. Once he had safely climbed to the top of the tipple, he would blink his flashlight and she would answer back with hers. I would peer into the blackness til I "found" the twinkling little light. She'd say something to the effect, "There's Grandpa, he's safe". Then she would go to bed.
A sweet memory of them.
