Why Didn't I Know This Then!!!

 So, I just read a wonderful hint - scatter moist coffee grounds on your cold ashes before you start to empty the ashes. There will be no puffy mess of ash all over as they cling to the coffee grounds.

I learn this now that I have gas fireplaces!

Oh, but I'd love to have a fireplace ... even a fire-pit! Unfortunately, here in Phoenix, it might only get 6-8 weeks use.
I WILL share this neat idea with my son and DIL in Alabama!
