Any Hints Out There?(Not this yellow!)

I want to paint our laundry room a soft yellow. Years ago (1967) we built our first home and the houses had lots of color- soft color. The kitchen was a very soft yellow, the bath a green, master blue(!) and nursery lilac(!!). I think the living rm was cream. The guest room was apricot. Before you barf, these were all just tinted colors - and we were "cool", ha,ha!

Think it is partially why I want to pt it yellow, a nice memory of our house.

I have never painted in my life! Most women have. Any hints?

Most paint brands carry a colour called soft butter. If the laundry
room is set apart from the rest of the house, paint it a colour that
will lift your spirits and decorate
it with old wash boards etc.

My painter son says to only buy 100%acrylic paint if you want it to cover well and be servicable. Some stores now carry small tins of paint that you can purchase and take it home to try out on the walls before buying a larger amount. Look at the test wall to see how the color changes with the different light at different times of day. Good Luck!

Shirley used to paint her house all the time years ago - hey, could I hold her the paint can and she could lean on her walker and paint - couldn't she?

I don't see any problem with Shirley painting as long as you hold the can/tray for her. Maybe Robin could paint higher up if she can't reach the ceiling height. The last time we painted our bedroom, you should have seen us. I am not good on a ladder and with my trifocals I couldn't see up towards the ceiling, Allan has recently broken his right wrist, so was trying to paint up high with his left hand. It took us forever to get that room done,, but he got to be a pretty good left handed painter before we finished. Oh for the memories. I really miss having him around after 52 years of marriage. My son lives here in Nipawin, he and another son have recently bought a garage/service station and are kept pretty busy. I think his painting days will be few and far between now. He did it for 30 some years and was ready for a change.
