So I just made up the guest room and was thinking about how lucky I am to have collected some nice sheet sets over the years. I tend to favor Costco sheets sets for 2 reasons: (1) they are very reasonably priced for queens and (2) the quality is there. They are heavier cotton but I like the feel - it's not a rough cotton. I did find a couple sets at Sears in the States which I also like.
If I had unlimited funds I'd shop at linen stores and get very fine cottons that feel almost silky to your skin.
Over a period of time, I'd buy a set of sheets maybe twice per year. The last couple years I also started buying large fleece blankets and also those really smooth ones - forget the name.
Another favorite I love is nice placemats, tablecloths and runners. Martha Stewart tea towels and bath towels are the best - I'd find them at K - Marts in the States. The last time we were down the selection was picked over so I only got a few items.
Well, don't know what brought this to mind - I guess changing the bed!

Did you hear Oprah the day that she said that she has her sheets changed every day because she likes the feel of clean, crisp sheets. She also said that she buys the best that she can find. I guess I'd have someone change my nice expensive sheets everyday too if I had her money. HA
Funny you mention that one, Elaine. I never watch Oprah just because I never seem to think of it - but for some reason I turned that show on - the audience really groaned when she said that & I think she was a bit weirded out for saying it - she can keep her maid- just toss us a dusty wad of money, ha,ha.
A good quality sheet is a joy to sleep on, especially if the bedding
has been hung out to dry and the
wind and sun has whipped it dry.
Anyone familiar with "Linen Source"
No, is it in the States only maybe.
They are a catalogue sales firm out
of Florida. They ship around the
world. I wait for their clearance
sales when 600 thread count pima
cotton sheets go for $69.00 for a
queen sheet set. We have down
duvets from Europe on all of our beds, bought on clearance.....the
only way I can afford to shop.
I'm going to tell Shirl what's on your beds! She will be down in a flash.
S & R hopefully will experience
the beds one day soon. I would
welcome you and the rest of the
Wacky Ladies with open arms!!
Thanks, Petra. It would be fun. As I have said before, I really hope to meet everyone some day.
