It Will Get Better - I Promise

So this is embarrassing - I lay all my silver pieces out to polish, got the Hagerty and it was hardened and dried out. Would that have anything to do with my not using it for a few days or years?

Really should be too embarrassed to post this but I'm not. Never did claim to be Suzy Homemaker. Anyway, off to Google "how to soften cream polish."

Very funny, Google. they told me to use it more often - who'd a thunk?

Have you tried adding just a smidge
of hot water to the bottle and
then shaking like mad. Have not tried it myself....I prefer the
paste which requires a moistened
sponge....

This is a hateful job, but when
finished so satisfactory.

I too am not enthused about polishing silver. When I was a Girl Guide Leader, my friend and I used to take our silver and the polish to Guides and proceeded to show them all how to polish silver. Of course they all wanted to do some and in no time at all it was all done. Of course they earned a badge at the same time. Ah, those were the days.

That's the smartest/funniest thing I 've heard today!

Well, now there you go -- and straight from the experts at Google! Maybe nuke it for a few secs? Works with brown sugar and honey...you never know. Just don't blame me if your microwave vaguely resembles the fridge & gravy incident.

Actually, I tried the microwave and after about 4 sec. turned it off- there must be metal or something in the polish cause it was very noisy! And still hard, ha,ha.And the silver is still tarnished.

There is a certain charm to tarnished silver...I'm so used to looking at mine that way, I think if I cleaned it the glare would give me SUCH a headache. It will get it's regularly scheduled polishing the next time company comes, which I think is sometime around 2034 or so...
