This One or This One?
Drove to the city and did a quick shopping trip to W*M. I bought some essentials and a treat for me. I think I was a good kid this week ~ Anyway, bought this lamp for $19.99 and it came with the white shade - which I feel is too long or big. So I put this other smaller, tan colored one on it to check. Now I can't decide which is better. Think the tan is too short! Is she ever happy??
Could you ladies help me out- like this is serious stuff :)
I yacked about it til Robin fell asleep, coffee in hand, well not quite but - - -
Anyway, I have never seen a lamp shade packed flat! I nearly fainted. It looked like a dinner plate til I pulled it - there were 3 "braces" inside to pull up and voila - a lampshade. this is just too much for me, ha,ha.
Does anyone know the "ratio" of shade to lamp height and where the shade is to reach on the base?

Sorry I don't know the ratio, but I have heard on some of the shows on TV like Lynda Reeves give it.
I think I like the white one best, if you're taking votes. But either is OK. I bought new lamps for my living room last fall and thought I had just the right shades (in white) until a neighbor came over and said I needed black so I went back to the store, brought home some black ones, and lo and behold she was right!!
Thanks, Elaine!
I don't know the ratio either, but I like the tan best. It gives the
base an elegant style.
I like the tan one against the color of the wall in the background, but I like the height of the white one. Gee, we're a bunch of help aren't we! Could you take the white one and make/cover the shade in a complimentary color to something else in the room? We are all probably over-analyzing it. No one is going to walk in and say "Oh my goodness! I can't BELIEVE she has THAT shade on THAT lamp!" LOL!
Thanks Everyone! The tan shade is very unique- kind of "dry" looking with a bit of texture. The base is elephants so thought it worked - have nearly worn them out already!
PS Have a sweet day - it's nice here.
