Well, I finally got out to plant 2 of the pots on the front step - darn computer grabs my sleeve every time I go by ~ anyway, I took pics, mess and all, it has to be natural. I never remember what it looked like initially so will take pics every month or so.
Hope everyone is having a super day- it's only 17 up here on my mountain but about 23 in town. I had a light jacket on as the front is shaded now and the breeze was chilly. An I am pretty wimpy, though.

What have you planted in with the spike? To me it looks like Marigolds, is it? I've never thought of putting the marigolds in a pot like that. I guess I'll go and pick up some plants tomorrow or the next day. They're probably getting picked over with Mother's Day this weekend.
Alternated marigolds and heliotrope and impatiens(rose colored) - makes a nice color combo once it blooms. I've been doing same pots for years as they "work".
