So, on one of my journeys to town, a passing 1/2 ton truck threw a stone to my wind shield. Being it was dark, I didn't realize it left a spot right at eye level and exactly between my eyes!!!
I'm so anoyed and the only way I don't see the mark is to leave the glass rather spotted up - after my car wash experience a bit ago, easy choice:)

Oh Jean, how frustrating for you! You probably already know this, but just in case you don't..... they can fix the knick without replacing the windshield. I had the same thing happen to me last year.

They can probably fix it quickly. I had a similar crack last year and they put some sort of gel on it and you can't even tell it was ever there.
What Kenju and Dolores said -- you can save the windshield with a repair job. The last chip repair on our windshield cost about $35.00. You must act soon.
