Camper Memories

So last night when we BBQ'd, I cooked an extra steak. Tonight I fried up sirloin strips, potatoes, green peppers, onions and fresh mushrooms. Salad on the side.

When we first went camping with our camper, we didn't have a small BBQ so I'd make up the above mixture and freeze it. For our supper, I'd heat it on the propane stove and voila! Dinner.

Anyway, it was touching to make it up tonight and reminisce about good days a few long years ago.

So We're Invited - - -

BBQ time tomorrow at S&R's. Just ran down to our little store and bought ( ) to make ( ) to take to their BBQ. I've never made ( ) before so hope it/they turn out. Will let you folks know tomorrow as it's a surprise til then. Hee, hee, hee.

Coffee Pot Woes

Have the worse luck with coffee pots. After many tries buying cheap, mid and expensive pots, I like the Black and Decker $15.99 best! They have redesigned the spout so it really is perfect. No drips.
Last year I bought a unit from Costco and had to take it back- the clerk said they were no good - many returns. Uh, why are they still on the shelf. It was $69.00 Then a pot for $100. Leaked all over my counter, down between fridge, etc. Yeah, B&D - you really work for me!

Learning and Living

Hoping this doesn't come across as phony but I have been craving knowledge. Since I quit work, My days are very non - testing of my mind. Crave that. So I have been going to sites learning about different subjects. I find it humorous that some student sites give me much pause for thought.

I am studying French again but of course, on my own. On our un-picnic day, found a great English/French dictionary. We lot a lot of mileage from that purchase. My Man was born in Quebec (father military) and learned Fr. in elementary school . So he loves to tease me. I bug him and suggest we go to conversational Fr. classes. So I study Fr. online and with my trusty books. (Old school)

This fall, if I can arrange it, will take computer courses. Hate this diddling around trying to figure stuff out myself. I know, I know, can ask Mark but he has a life, too, and works long hours.

Happy Birthday, Neil!!!

Seems like just yesterday I ran snorting into the wheat field - or so they say.

Hope you have the very best day! Will be with you in spirit. Much love.

"Baby"

Dad took Shirl and I to the general store - we gazed through the glass of the display cabinet searching for the perfect gift. Then we saw it - a wee cushion with piping that had "Baby" written across it. If I remember correctly it was $.25

Excited, he drove us to the hospital to see Mom. She stood at the top of a high ( 4 steps?) set of stairs smiling down at us. A vision of beauty in a long gold satin housecoat. I remember thinking she looked so beautiful. Shirl was 9 and I was 5.

And Neil was newborn.

Happy birthday, bro.
